Mesócrata

Mesócrata is a large peninsula in the central south of Áváhé. The local population commonly considers it the cradle of humanity.

Geography

Overall, Mesócrata is relatively flat, especially in the northern coastal regions. This often leads to massive flooding.

North of Mesócrata lie countless islands, collectively known as the Shattereds.

Climate

Mesócrata features diverse climatic zones with some strong contrasts. The north of the peninsula is dominated by tropical savannah, followed by stripes of dry steppes to the south, and then a more Mediterranean climate to the east, while the heartland is dominated by a humid and continental climate.

Culture

Numerous human cultures exist on Mesócrata, often in city-states, the two most powerful being Ioq and Ax́ol.

Politics

Mesócrata is far from being a unified country, but a conglomeration of local tribes and city-states, some of which are enemies of each other. This situation allows especially the Aerznian Empire to colonize the peninsula from the west.
