General
The Kingdom of Vrágrikán is located on an island in Tammeren, in the south-west of Áváhé.
Geography
The island on which the kingdom is located is relatively flat and cut off from the mainland to the south and north by the Tammeren Narrow. Gold can often be found in riverbeds.
Climate
The climate in the region is maritime. Since the land is not connected to the mainland, a unique fauna has been able to develop there, while the flora corresponds to that of Tammeren.
Culture
The kingdom provides a little agriculture mainly constiting of potatoes and wheat.
The Vrágrikán culture probably retained some ancient influences from northern Áváhé, which would explain linguistic similarities with a few Luyieverian palaces. Vrágrikán has a quite strong military force, although it has never been part in a bigger conflict. Especially its navy is very strong due to the highly developed fishing culture, which is also relevant when it comes to trading.
Foreign Policy
Generally, Vrágrikán helt very good trading deals with the Imperii Draconi and with the Old Ones in ancient times.
At the time of the Iron Gate Saga, the kingdom is far from the great powers of Áváhé and is connected mainly with the peoples of the Riverlands and occasionally Gesoria.
Domestic Policy
The kingdom is currently divided into an eastern and a western part. Both parts are hostile to each other.
History
The kingdom was founded in the year 1500 A.I.D. by the so called Ísgrád, who was - at least the inhabitants of Vrágrikán think so - a god. He astablished the kingdom, by leading a group of Human settlers from the North of Áváhé to the South-west, and allegedly ruled over it for many millenia. Hoewever, as he is said to have surprisingly passed away in the year 4000 A.I.D. his two sons had to take over. Since they were twins, neither was the first or second born. This problem initiated a conflict in the kingdom which still lasts to the modern age. The once united kingdom split into two sides, each promising their loyalty to one of the brothers.
Ødger
One brother - Ødger - ruled over the East side of the island. He had astablished a stable government which also included its inhabitants. He mainly involved them in the process of establishing new laws but also in other legal affairs. In general he believed that a kingdom could only function if the inhabitants were also involved. He allowed democratic aspects however he still ultimately decided if changes could be made.
Trygve
The other brother - Trygve - followd a different approach than Ødger. He thoiught of himself as the rightfull decendent of Ísgrád and would rule over his kingdom with an iron fist. He astablished a dictatorship with himself at the top.
