The Framing Effect
General
Framing is an effect of the prolonged exposure to strong magic emphases.
The Effect
The essence of beings cannot usually be changed by magic, this is a magical principle. However, beings are not constants, they are changeable by nature. This is why magic can change a being gradually and over a long period of time as well.
This works via emphases, the process of transmuting magical potential into something new. This process leaves a resonance, an echo of the act. If a person is close to particularly strong magic aimed at this person and if this magic is used constantly over a long period of time, it is possible that the emphases (or rather: that the resonance primarily hits this person, like waves hitting a stone in water) interact with the essence of the person and change or influence them permanently.
However, the effect can potentially also be reciprocal, since one person can also have an influence on the underlying process, possibly even without knowing it.
Delineation
The process described above is related but not to be confused with resonance conjuring.
