The Imperial Asparagus

General

The Imperial Asparagus (officially called the Spear of Raecar) was a lance with which Kaiser Raecar I. is said to have defended himself in a war between Flarrock and the Old Empire. The spear was an officiall insignia of the empire.

History

In 3050 A.I.D. Flarrok was at war with the Old Empire. After the emperor fell in battle, Raecar declared himself the new emperor. Raecar - not particularly tall for a Dragon in stature - is said to have been alone on a farmers field, when he was ambushed by enemy combatants. All he had for defense was a spear. At first Raecar allegedly tried to ward off some of the attackers with stones (whereby it is said that asparagus also flew through the air because of his coarse claws and fell on the attackers). In any case, his swiftly approaching allies found him stabbing an enemy with his spear - leaving a large piece of asparagus stuck to the spear.

That spear later became one of the great imperial insignia and jokingly referred to as the imperial asparagus. Officially the spear was called the Spear of Ræcar
