Nideon Thavi
General
Nideon Thavi [nɪde:o:n ta:vɪ] was a diplomat at the time of the late Old Empire. He gained notoriety for his leadership in negotiating the Dominion treaties and his involvement in the Lochäa Crisis and the Mesócrata Crisis.
Appearance
Nideon was a half-Dragon with a human form. His skin was of a light complexion, his black hair was usually cut short. His face was narrow, with accentuated contours.
Personality
Nideon was known for his warm nature and sarcasm, and was famous for his quick wit.
Life
Nideon was born in Košbrôn in 5603 A.I.D. and died in 5821 A.I.D.. Since he was half Dragon, he lived longer than an average Human. Nideon was descended from the Brônian clan Thavi, a small clan composed mainly of Humans.
At the age of 21, he decided to enter the diplomatic service of the Imperii Draconi. For this he left the Lower North and moved to Quanar, where he went into training. There were hardly any diplomats from his region, so many initially considered him a province boy. Nideon then participated in missions in Ýuufver and Crovia.
Political Activities
Nideon quickly made a name for himself there by getting Crovia to agree to a neutrality pact against Flarrock that made it impossible to use the country as a beachhead.
When the wars for the north broke out in 5638 A.I.D., Nideon was recalled from Ýuufver and sent with a delegation to the Dróžt. The leader of the delegation died on the trip, so the leadership fell to him. His task was to persuade the local powers to be neutral, which he succeeded in doing with considerable difficulty.
In 5639 A.I.D. he and his delegation had to flee from Lłóđamaar, as the city itself was attacked by hordes advancing up to here.
At the turn of the year 5640 A.I.D. he reached the Fallwacht. Here he encountered his later friend Chrioseptico for the first time. Here, to his great anger, he also learned about the poor state of the army. He shared Chrioseptico's frustration and strongly criticized the central government in Dracominor. Nideon made several attempts to meet the advancing hordes and negotiate with them, but failed each time. He began to anticipate that the local estates felt betrayed by the empire and that this would hold great potential for future tension.
Nideon personally traveled to Dracominor in great haste to see Emperor Tilân. After some persuasion, he managed to obtain permission for a reconquest. With this in hand, he returned to Lochaea.
Finally - in 5642 A.I.D. - Nideon got the current general of the army to resign after the latter refused to carry out the campaign. As a result, Chrioseptico took over the leadership and launched the reconquest.
Field Experience
Nideon had never been fond of military activities. As an advisor to Chrioseptico, however, he also lent a hand with simple tasks.
