The entire Luyieverian Reich

The High Reich [ʁaɪ̯ç] of Luyieverian [lʌaɪ̯i:vɪəɹɪən] Estates (also known as Luyieveria [lʊjɪfɛʁi:a:]) is a federal empire in Luyieveria, in the North of Áváhé.

Geography

The empire is the northernmost Human power of Áváhé. It lies partly in the sparsely populated cold northern regions but also extends far into the warmer south around the High Grasslands.

Its neighbors are Raufstrom to the north, Falkland to the east, and the Dróžt to the south, as well as small local powers in and around its sphere of influence.

Politics

The coat of arms of the Luyieverian Reich

The empire expanded and contracted in several phases. The Reichstag evolved over time and was conferred by an election. For an estate to owe allegiance to the emperor, the latter must have been in that estate after their election and paid respect to it and its local culture. This tradition underlines the internal heterogeneity of the empire. Since the imperial estates are very diverse and independent, the empire is often preoccupied with itself. Völkladingdam, for example, is part of the empire mainly to secure itself against its rival Falkland and not out of conviction.

In the Iron Gate Saga - 7012 A.I.D. - the Mahr was de facto broken out of the empire, as the Dragons of Dracoš wiped out the Mahr capital - Steynmahr - after some skirmishes. This event sent a shock wave through the empire, as it had been founded in Steynmahr. Particularly alarming from the Luyieverian point of view was the involvement of Dragons from the distant Thôsco, raising the question of whether this country could pose a threat for which the empire was unprepared.

History

The Empire emerged from the devastation of the upper and middle north, triggered by a migration of diverse ancients and barbarians around 5500 A.I.D.. This was also the first crisis that shook the late Old Empire and with which its dissolution began.

The Old Empire always had a complicated relationship with the north and had not expanded there for very long, to integrate this region as well. Old Ones had been driven out by humans in many places, and imperial Dragons, Old Ones, and Humans (as well as Wolves) lived only in a few places - for example, on the islands of Dracoš.

When the north was on the verge of integration, mass immigration of tribes and warlike Old Ones from the upper north led to wars throughout the region leading the Empire to retreat to the southern Fall. Because of the emerging crisis, Dragons and Old Ones were perceived as traitors who would not assist in case of emergency.

By the time the empire was able to recapture the long-devastated north, it would have lost most of its supporters, if they had not been driven out. Dracoš and cities in the lower north remained the most essential bastions, but they lost their connection to the empire when most of Lochäa left it. As other crises came to the fore, the empire turned to other regions and the north fell out of favor, even when targeted hunting of Old Ones and Dragons began, a practice that originated in the Dróžt and found favor in the outraged north.

Over a long period, the northernmost region of Áváhé continued to evolve into a theater of constant struggle without the stabilizing influence of the Old Empire. The heterogeneous Luyieverian cultural sphere fragmented massively into small counties and royal dynasties. Since no regional power could gain the upper hand and the western part of the north was confronted with rampaging Dragons and Old Ones and aggressive Free Wanderers, a congress in Steynmahr founded the High Realm of Luyivian Estates in 6546 A.I.D.. At first, this was only a western Luyivian protective alliance, but the players also began to cooperate increasingly politically.
