For worldbuilding, the official time period used is Before (B.I.D.) and After (A.I.D.) the founding of the Old Empire. However, different cultures of Áváhé have developed different time calculations and divisions. The most prominent ones are discussed here.

Eons, Eras, Epochs, Ages and their Events

Ordered chronologically:

The Palaion (15000 - 2000 B.I.D.)

The Palaion represents the earliest eon in the annals of Áváhéan history. It is roughly divided into two parts:

The Arcane Antiquity / 'The Era of Unity' (1500 B.I.D. - 5900 A.I.D.)

"The Arcane Antiquity" describes the period from approximately 1500 B.I.D. to 5900 A.I.D., thus encompassing a significant portion of the existence of the Old Empire.

The Younger Antiquity / 'The Painful Loneliness' (5900 A.I.D. - 6400 A.I.D.)

The Younger Antiquity describes a period, used mainly in the Aerznian context, in which the emergence of the Aerznian Imperium is located.

Among Old Ones, this period is associated with the decline of the Old Empire and with the ostracization of their kin. It is thus often called the time of the "Painful Loneliness".
